Mary Jo (Jody) was born in Williamson, WV and grew up in Huntington WV. She was a graduate of the University of Kentucky where she received her BSW and was a member of the Alpha Delta Pi Sorority. She began her Social Work career in WV then moved to Gulf Breeze, FL in 1974 where she was employed by the state of Florida until she retired in 1997. She was well respected by her friends and colleagues. She enjoyed crewel embroidery and painting and took pride in every stitch and stroke. She is survived by her daughter, Sharon Bridges (Chris) and one grandson, Davis. She was very dedicated to her family who misses her dearly. A celebration of her life will be held at her daughter's home at 2826 Safari Ct. in Gulf Breeze on Saturday, November 22, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the National Scoliosis Foundation or American Heart Association in her name.
