Obituary

Mary Grace Garner, 94, passed away on Tuesday, June 13, 2017.

She graduated from Pensacola High in 1940. She left Pensacola in 1944 to marry W.O. Garner in Honolulu.

W.O., a machinist, was repairing ships at Pearl Harbor. She has worked for the American Optical Co., NW Florida Girl Scout Council, and the Florida Revenue Service.

Mrs. Garner touched the lives of many people as a volunteer with the Girl Scouts, Arthritis Foundation, and the Council for the Blind. She enjoyed translating books into braille and taught others to do so at PJC. Her grandchildren especially remember her teaching them how to use the Commodore computer before the age of PCs.

She is survived by her daughter, Susan Peoples (Ray); son, Jerry (Frances); brother, Barne Morain; sister, Dolores Thompson; sister-in-law, Mary Lou Butler; many grandchildren and

great-grand children.

Visitation will be held from 10:30am until the Funeral Service at 11:00am Saturday, June 17, 2017 at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel. Burial will follow at Bayview Memorial Park.

The family especially thanks those who cared for her at Carpenter's Creek and those from

VITAS Hospice.
