Obituary

Mary Maude Duncan Reichmann's journey began on September 2, 1954. She was a native to Pensacola, FL, where she was blessed to marry her high school sweetheart. They went on to have three beautiful children; who in turn blessed them with 7 amazing grandchildren.

Maude was best known for her love of gardening and animals. She loved spending time in her yard; which was always immaculate. She usually had a jungle's worth of plants and flowers inhabited by an abundance of butterflies and hummingbirds. In addition to her green thumb she also never met any kind of animal she didn't adore; even the ferret named Sam that chased Pop up onto the kitchen counter. Her dog, Bear, was notorious for jumping the fence, then running to the school and stealing lunch from the kids! The only thing that rivaled her love for her garden and her four legged friends was her love for the people in her life.

As the Assistant Principle for Sacred Heart Cathedral School she wore many hats; nurse, disciplinarian, confidant and lunch lady! She practically raised a whole generation of kids that loving thought of her as a second mother. The door to her home and her heart was always open to anyone needing kindness, compassion or just a couch to crash on for a night or two. Her hugs were a warm refuge for the countless friends of her children who were a constant presence in her home.

Our beloved mother lost her battle to cancer on Wednesday, February 8, 2017 at her home surrounded by those that loved her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Pat and Gloria Duncan.

She is survived by her husband, Charley; children, Joshua (Heather), Jeremy (Melissa) and Cecilia (Justin); grandchildren, Cody (Kelsey), Tyler, Brennan, Cameron, Noah, Cailey and Lily; her siblings, Anna (Mike), Patrick, Mary Margaret, Joe Robert (Mary), Hillary (Linda), Honey (Jerry) and Jean.

A Celebration of life will be held this Saturday, February 11, 2017 at Park East on Pensacola Beach from 2-4pm. All who loved her are welcome to join us.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Pensacola Humane Society, or you may feel free to donate your time to doing poo duty for Charley. Three fury family members, Belvedere, Tinkerbell and Nola would love for you to stop by and visit.
