Mary Alice Sears, 88, passed away Monday, November 4, 2013. Mary Alice lived in Pensacola for nearly 50 years. She was born to Albert and Willie Mae Haywood on September 25, 1925 in Charlotte, NC and had no other siblings. Mary was a Registered Nurse, entrepreneur, devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was active in many social organizations including the Krewe of Les Harlequins, Maids of Mirth and Marionettes. She was also a life-long member of First Baptist Church of Pensacola. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Dr. Warren Sears; three children, Ann Sears, Bill Sears (Susan) all of Pensacola and Rick Sears (Cindy) of Carrollton, GA; five grandchildren, Sarah Harrison (Ryan), Garrett Sears (Morgan), Alyson, Leah and Brooke Sears; as well as one great grandchild, Lincoln Harrison. To her grandchildren, she was Mimi; to her children she was Mom and MommaRoo, and to Warren she was Honey. Her family was her singular pride and joy. Visitation will be held 10:30am until the Funeral Service to begin at 11:30am Saturday, November 9, 2013 at First Baptist Church, Plietz Chapel. Interment will follow at Bayview Memorial Park.
