Mary Sasser Smith, 65, of Pensacola, FL passed away Wednesday, November 27, 2024.
Mary was born in Jacksonville, FL on May 14, 1959, to Frances (Kaup) and Gerald Sasser. She received her bachelor's degree and began a 25-year teaching career in Escambia County where she taught at Bratt Elementary, and N B Cook. During her career as a teacher, Mary received many teaching awards including Teacher of the Year for Escambia County. She enjoyed many hobbies such as gardening, tennis, bowling, ping pong, biking, but most of all she loved going to the beach.
She is preceded in death by her daughter, Nicole Rolin Teague; her parents; her brothers, Jerry and Rickey Sasser.
Mary is survived by her husband, Randy Smith; daughters, Megan Rolin Gordon (Joshua) and Hillary Rolin Lee (Austin); son-in-law, Matthew Teague; grandchildren, Molly Teague, Evangeline Teague, Micah Howard, Magdalene Gordon, Lyric Gordon, Willow Gordon, and Judah Gordon; her siblings, Joe Sasser, Michael Sasser, Chris Sasser, Carole Jones, Karen Sheehan, Kathie Reagan, Bonnie Martin, Denise White, Valerie Bobo, Jackie Armentor, and Renee Walsh; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be held 10:00am until a Funeral Service begins at 11:00am Wednesday, December 4, 2024, at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel, with Pastor Joshua Gordon officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Disease, Grand Central Station, P.O. Box 4777 New York, NY 10163.
