Marylon R. "Mona" Costello Blankenship, 77, of Pace, FL and formerly of Ashdown, AR passed away on Wednesday, May 14, 2014. Mona was born on October 11, 1936 in Anoke, IN. She was a homemaker and mother of seven children. She liked to study the Bible and do needlework. Mona loved to play games and take care of her family and friends. Preceding her in death was her husband, Charlie Madison Blankenship; a son, George Alan Blankenship and her mother and father, Elvi and Ruben McCollum. She is survived by her daughters; Belinda Jo Stewart of Foreman, AR, Candiss Lee Merrell of Hooks, TX, Melissa Ann Blankenship of Pensacola, FL, Regina Maria Morgan of Pace, FL, Diana Blankenship of Ogden, AR and a son, Charles Ruben Blankenship of Texarkana, AR; 2 son-in-laws, George and Steve; a daughter-in-law, Timmany; 18 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; 3 brothers, Dave, Gene and Ronnie; 2 sister-in-laws, Judy and Mona along with numerous nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be held at a later date in Ashdown, AR. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society. Special thanks are given to the staffs of Baptist Hospital, the Home Health Agency, Covenant Hospice and the Woodlands.
