Matthew Christopher Colin, 22, of Navarre, FL was killed in action on November 16, 2011. Matthew was born in St. Augustine, FL on January 20, 1989 to Ken and Kathy Colin. He graduated from Navarre High School in 2007. He was a member of Navarre Youth Sports Association (NYSA). Matthew loved to play football, basketball, baseball and soccer. He excelled in track and field at the age of 7 and was the top competitor of his age group. He proudly served in the US Army in the 1st of the 5th Infantry in Kandahar Province, Afghanistan in support of operation Enduring Freedom. Matthew received the Purple Heart, Bronze Star Medal, Army Good Conduct Medal, Combat Infantry Badge and the NATO Medal. He is survived by his father and mother, Ken and Kathy Colin; his older brother, Michael Colin; grandparents, Bob and Margaret Dawson; five aunts; four uncles and many cousins. He is also survived by his four dogs, Spartacus, Patton, Captain and Goldie. Visitation will be held 5-7pm Monday, November 28, 2011 at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel. Funeral Service will be held 11:00am Tuesday, November 29, 2011 at the Naval Aviation Memorial Chapel, NAS Pensacola. Burial will follow at Barrancas National Cemetery with full military honors.
