Matthew Garrett Dunn, 31, of Milton, FL, passed away on Tuesday, May 26, 2026. He was born on July 14, 1994, in Wichita, KS.

Matthew was born into a military family and spent part of his childhood in Washington State before primarily growing up in Bakersfield, California. He attended Frontier High School and graduated with the Class of 2012. While at Frontier, Matthew participated in several sports, including baseball, football, and track and field, where he excelled in pole vaulting. He was also a member of the Frontier High School mixed choir and men's choir.

Matthew attended Bakersfield College, where he continued competing in track and field as a pole vaulter, before transferring to the University of La Verne to pursue a bachelor’s degree in computer science.

Leaving family and friends behind, Matthew relocated from Bakersfield to the Salt Lake City, UT area, where he worked as a superintendent for a residential construction company. It was there that he became engaged to Jennifer Brant, with home he shared many happy years. After four years, they decided to trade the snow-capped mountains of Utah for the sunshine, beaches, and abundant fishing opportunities of Florida.

Although Matthew’s life ended abruptly, he lived his life daily with generosity, kindness, and thoughtfulness. He never met a stranger, and the love he gave was unconditional. He was always willing to lend a helping hand and brought warmth, laughter, and friendship to those around him.

Matthew is preceded in death by his twin brothers, Jacob Dunn and Joshua Dunn, and grandmother, Claudia Estrada.

Survivors include his parents, Brandon and Chelle Dunn; his sister, Taylor Dunn; his brother, Collin Dunn; his grandparents, Larry and Marion Dunn; his grandmother, Mary Dickson; his grandfather, Dickie Dickson; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and cherished friends whom he loved dearly.

A memorial service celebrating Matthew's life will be held 12:00noon, Sunday, June 14, 2026, at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel, the Sean Flynn Blue Skies Foundation, and the many wonderful friends and family members who have shown such compassion, support, and generosity during the unexpected loss of their beloved son.
