IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Matthew Allen
Sharp
February 24, 1977 – March 3, 2025
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Matthew Allen Sharp, a devoted husband, father, son, brother, and friend, who left us too soon on Monday, March 3, 2025, after a brief battle with influenza A at the age of 48 (or as he liked to tell us, the youngest man ever).
Matthew was born on February 24, 1977, in Fond du Lac, WI, but grew up in Niagara Falls, NY, surrounded by family and friends who admired his sense of humor, loyalty, and funny personality. Matthew lived a life full of love and laughter. He was a man of great integrity, always willing to lend a hand to those in need and make those around him feel valued, never wanting thanks or attention for it. His passions included his dogs, his yard, working on his cars, and lightening every situation with a perfectly timed one-liner, but above all, he treasured time spent with his family. He was a loving and devoted husband to Wendy for over 22 years, and a proud father to Kailee, Allen, and Christian. His presence brought all of the fun into their lives, and his love for them was unshakable.
Matthew was also known for his work ethic, earning the respect and admiration of colleagues and friends alike. He was the provider for his family and he took great pride in that, he was the hardest working man ever. Matthew will be remembered and especially missed for his sense of humor, his generosity, and the way he always made everything feel like it would be ok. His legacy of love, kindness, and devotion to family will continue to inspire all who were lucky enough to know him.
Matthew's passing leaves a void in the hearts of all who knew him.
He is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Ray and Stella Aker, and his paternal grandparents, Everette and Ruby.
He is survived by his loving wife and children; his parents, Mary Lou Sharp and Allen (Betty) Sharp; his siblings, Eamon (Julie) Sharp, Josh (Kandyss) Horton, Fred (Anita) Huff, Tom (Kristin) Huff, Samuel (Staci) Cale, and Chelsea Cale; many loving aunts, uncles; nieces, and nephews; as well as his beloved dogs, Nizmo, Luna, and Shadow.
A celebration of Matthew's life will take place later this year in the summer in Lockport, NY. Everyone is welcome, and details will be shared as soon as they are determined.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Matthew's children to help with this unexpected loss.
