Obituary

Meir Marcus McLean, Sr., 68, of Robertsdale, AL passed away Friday, January 15, 2016.

Mr. McLean was born in Pensacola, FL on February 22, 1947.

He grew up in Gulf Breeze and then moved to Pensacola where he worked for Gulf Power Company for 16 years and for Pensacola NAS Civil Service Division for 30 years until he retired.  Meir was an avid hunter and fisherman who enjoyed spending time with his brother, sons, grandchildren and close friends. He also enjoyed traveling with his wife, brother and sister-in-law throughout the US. He was a member of Pine Woods Presbyterian Church in Cantonment.


He leaves behind his wife of 46 years, Barbara, as well as his beloved sons; Meir McLean, Jr (Julie A) and David McLean (Julie P); brother, JR McLean (Marie); grandchildren, Hunter, Ty, Wyatt and Sarah and a large extended family of nieces, nephews and in-laws.


Visitation will be held from 5:30-7:30 pm on Tuesday, January 19, 2016 at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel. Funeral services will be at 11:00am, Wednesday, January 20, 2016 at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel with Pastor Joel Treick officiating. Burial will follow at Bayview Memorial Park.

Active Pallbearers will be Warren Culbertson, Bill Curry, Ted Griffin, Bobby Moore, Jason Potts and Buddy Russell.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Johns Crumpler, Dean Givens, Ron Johnson, Bobby Minchew, Frank Pilcher, Lamar Wheeler and Curtis Williams.
