Melvin L. Edmondson, 95, of Pensacola, FL, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, June 2, 2023.
Melvin was born on May 13, 1928, in Florala, AL and was the son of the late George and Sadie Edmondson.
He honorably served in the United States Navy and the Pacific Theater during WWII.
Melvin co-owned the Appliance Center with his partner, Bill Williams. After the closure of the Appliance Center, Melvin went to work for Janet Holley at the Escambia County Tax Collectors office and retired at the age of 76.
Melvin is preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Doris Bercaw Edmondson.
He leaves behind his children, Reese Edmondson (Chantal), Gayle Osborne (David), John Edmondson (Tammy) and Laura Lee; grandchildren, Rebecca Cox (Brian), Nathan Edmondson (Chara), Cambre Roberts (Mikal), Kelsey Lee, Jasmine Heiser (Patrick), Lauryn Straughan (Jerron); great grandchildren, Amelia Lee, Elowen Heiser, Max Heiser and Madden Edmondson; sister, Janell Lasseter (Glen); brothers, Doyle Edmondson and Jerome Edmondson (Darlene).
A visitation will be held from 1:30 pm until the funeral service begins at 2:30 pm on Friday, June 9, 2023 at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel. Burial will follow at Bayview Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Olive Baptist Church, 1836 East Olive Road, Pensacola, FL 32514.
