Obituary

Michael Dean Anders, 54, of Pensacola, FL, passed away at his home on Sunday, July 16, 2017.

A native of Asheville, NC, Dean was the son of Janice Jackson and Doran Anders. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Western Carolina University. Dean served honorably in the United States Army, receiving his helicopter training at Ft. Rucker, AL. He was a loyal employee of CommStructures Inc. in Pensacola, FL, a dedicated father to his children and an avid fan of the North Carolina Tar Heels and the Dallas Cowboys. Dean was known for his infectious laugh and love of storytelling.

Dean is survived by his wife, Amy Kilgore Anders; daughter, Abigail Anders, both of Pensacola, FL; step children, Savannah Hart of Elk City, OK and Michael Hart of San Diego, CA; granddaughter, Presley Thompson of Elk City, OK; his mother, Janice Jackson of Augusta, GA; brothers, Phillip Anders of Aiken, SC, Gary Anders of Beech of Island, SC, Joshua Anders of Fort Wayne, IN, and James Moery of Asheville, NC.

Dean's life will be celebrated with Funeral services at 12:00pm on Monday, July 24, 2017 in the Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel. Burial will follow at Barrancas National Cemetery. The family will receive friends at 11:00am prior to the service at the funeral home.
