Obituary

Michael James Imhof, 53, of Pensacola, FL passed away tragically in a beach accident on June 2, 2023, leaving behind numerous open bar tabs, unopened medical bills, and the only active MySpace account.

Mikey died knowing that the undefeated, Super Bowl winning, 1972 Miami Dolphins were the original GOATS, that t-shirts adorned with cats shooting lasers were totally fashionable, and that Vodka made everything better.

Mike is survived by his father, Patrick Imhof, sister Sue Burke (David), brother Patrick Imhof, Jr. (Kristy); nieces and nephews Katie (Logan) Ortega, Ryan Ehlers, Betsy (Andrew) Summerlin, Patrick III, Kelly, and Sam Imhof, and Charlotte Ortega. Mikey's life work was spent in service to others, most importantly as a father-figure, uncle, mentor, and friend to all his nieces and nephews, blood related and by choice.

He is preceded in death by his beloved mother, Eileen Imhof, and brother-in-law Mark Ehlers, along with the Yugo he won at senior grad night.

When not spending time with family, Jack enjoyed and excelled at all bar sports. It was rare for him to be defeated in cornhole, darts or beer pong once he "locked it in." He was a font of useless knowledge, able to spew random quotes from obscure B-rated movies of all eras, which was very useful when playing trivia or searching on Amazon for humorous t-shirts to wear.

Despite physical challenges, Mikey lifted the spirits of all he encountered, and would be a top contender for the World's Funniest Human Being. Mike never took credit for his kindness, and no one deserved that credit more than him. While not formally educated, he surely had a PhD in life.

A celebration of Mike's life will be held at Calvert's in the Heights at 2:00pm on Saturday, June 10. In lieu of flowers, people wishing to contribute are encouraged to visit any of Mike's favorite establishments, have a drink (or two) in his memory and generously tip the bartender.

The family would like to sincerely thank the employees and owners of Calverts, McGuires, Wisteria, and all the many establishments Mike considered his home and family. You filled his life with richness and joy.

May he forever rest in peace.
