IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Michael Leo
Johnson
February 7, 1960 – June 21, 2025
Michael Leo Johnson, 65, passed away suddenly on Saturday, June 21, 2025.
Born on February 7, 1960, in Myrtle Beach, SC, to Larry Blanchard Johnson and Joyce Ford. Michael was the quintessential entrepreneur owning businesses ranging from trucking to mini warehouses to nursing homes. Most recently he was the owner of Moore Assets Recovery, LLC.
His commitment to the Pensacola community will leave a lasting impact. He was especially dedicated to youth sports where he coached and led various organizations for many years. This love of competition deeply influenced the lives of his daughters and grandsons. Michael was passionate about providing access to sports to as many children as possible knowing that many important life lessons are learned on the playing field.
He will be remembered for his unwavering commitment to his family and friends. He never met a stranger and made a mark on everyone he encountered.
Michael loved sportfishing. He participated in many local tournaments and even had the pleasure of competing in the World Billfish Tournament. While his passions included fishing, music, sports, and travel, his most cherished role was that of "Grandpa." Michael never missed a game his grandsons played regardless of the sport. He even made it to most practices where he frequently took on the role of assistant coach, especially with baseball.
Michael is preceded in death by his father, Larry Blanchard Johnson.
He is survived by his daughters, Amber Ball (Bryan) and Molly Johnson; his brother, Larry Blanchard Johnson; his mother, Joyce Ford; and his beloved grandsons, Colin and Connor Ball.
