IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Michael B.
Owen
August 9, 1954 – September 14, 2022
Michael Owen, 68, of Gulf Breeze, FL passed away unexpectedly on September 14, 2022, in Bryce Canyon, UT. He was doing what he loved, riding his motorcycle through one of the many canyon states he traveled with several of his friends. Michael was born in Ft. Payne, AL on August 9, 1954, to Bill and Jackie Owen.
He lived and traveled to many states and countries growing up and settled in Gulf Breeze, near his family. Like his father, he worked in Industrial Instrumentation until he obtained his Real Estate License and helped friends invest in real estate. He fell in love with and married Karen on November 2, 1990, and they shared nearly 32 years of camping, boating, travel adventures, love, and happiness.
Michael lived life loud and large. He loved his friends, playing games, boating, camping, National Park exploring, and most of all, riding his motorcycles. He was lucky enough to be doing what he loved most when he left this earth. Michael rode with several riding clubs (including the F6B "No Frills Rally"), was a genius at creating ride routes, and served in leadership positions with the club closest to his heart, Southern Cruisers Riding Club of Pensacola. He worked as realtor until retirement, was a former board member of the Santa Rosa Yacht Club and a current member of the Pensacola Beach Elks Lodge.
He is survived by his wife, Karen "KK" Owen; brother, Johnny Owen (Sharon); sister, Cathy Duncan (Mark); sisters, and brothers in law, Stephanie (Danny) Musso, Debbie (John) Richardson, Dennis Smith; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Randy and Dottie Smith; nieces, and nephews, Cara (Austin) Tenpenny, Bree Duncan (RJ, fiancé), Spencer Duncan, David Owen, Anthony Musso, Angela (Terry) Wiley, Paul (Brooke) Musso, Ryleigh Musso, Brittany (George) Thomas, Brett Reese, Sydney (Taylor) Clotiaux, Randi Smith, and Mason Smith; great nieces, and nephews, Liv, Parker, and River Tenpenny, Eliza, Collins, and Wilder Wiley, Elijah, Ella, and Nora Musso, Cambre Clotiaux, and Anthem Musso.
Michael is preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Jackie Owen; brother, Richard Owen.
Visitation will be held 10:00am until a memorial service to begin at 11:00am Tuesday, September 20, 2022, at St. Francis of Assisi Episcopal Church, 1 St. Francis Drive, Gulf Breeze, FL 32561. Please join us for a reception in the parish hall following the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Mike Owen Memorial Incident Fund (monetary resources for members and loved ones with expenses in cases involving motorcycle accidents and emergencies). Mail donations to Southern Cruisers Riding Club 164 Incident Relief Fund, c/o Lynn Hughes, 10392 Old Dairy Lane, Pensacola, Florida 32534.
Special thanks to our friends, our family, the Southern Cruisers Riding Club of Pensacola, our St. Francis of Assisi Episcopal Church family, and the team at Studer Education. The family of Michael Owen would also like to thank Tanner Morris with Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel for everything. Finally, we would like to thank the riders that were with Michael in Utah when he passed away. Kickstands up!
