MGYSGT Michael Edward Prouty, USMC (Ret.), age 72, of Elberta, AL, went to his heavenly home on Thursday, September 19, 2024. Michael was born in Pensacola, FL to the late Frank Edward and Ida Beatrice Boyd Prouty.

Michael was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was married to the love of his life, Cathy Prouty for 50 years. He was of the Christian faith and had attended Myrtle Grove Methodist Church. Michael proudly served his country in the US Marine Corps, retiring after 26 years of service. Michael attended Arizona State and was a member of the BMW Club. He enjoyed golfing, kites and cars of all kinds, especially jeeps. He loved to travel and see the world, but above all he loved to spend time with his family. He was truly loved and will be missed by all who knew him.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his daughter, Lisa Marie Prouty.

Those left to cherish his memory include, his loving wife, Cathy Prouty; a son, Michael Prouty, Jr., of Pensacola, FL; two  daughters, Amanda Prouty, of Atlanta, GA, Sarah Corsair (Michael), of Madison, AL; grandchildren, Jackson and Olivia Corsair, of Madison, AL; cousins, Becky Glover, of Orange Beach, AL, Tom & Sharon Maser, Orange Beach, AL, as well as numerous cousins and extended family.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, September 28, 2024, at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel. A reception will follow at San Carlos Beach (Behind CPO Club/Barrancas Beach NAS) 3875 Radford Blvd, NAS Pensacola, FL 32508. Military honors will be accorded by the United States Marine Corps.
