Michael Anthony "Tony" Smith died Monday, May 9, 2016, unexpectedly at his residence.
Tony was born on January 29, 1960 in Evergreen, AL.
He was a lifelong resident of Cantonment, FL. Tony attended Tate High School. He was proprieotor of Tony's Transmission for many years. He was extremely well known throughout Escambia County for his exceptional automotive repair skills. He was an avid car racing enthusiast and was very prominent in several racing circuits in the Southeast. Tony also loved to fish, but was happiest when under the hood of a car.
He is preceded in death by his parents, James and Peggy Smith and brother, James Larry "JL" Smith.
He is survived by his son, Michael A. Smith; granddaughter, Ayla Jane Smith; brother, Danny L. Smith (fiance, Shannon Hall); love of his life, Traci and her sons, Darrell and Daniel Goodwin; grandchildren, Payton Riley, Baylen and Caleb Goodwin; also survived by nephew, Gabe Smith; great nephews, Davin and Isaac Smith; niece, Jessica McMorris; great-nephew, Giovanni McMorris and a host of aunts, uncles and cousins.
Visitation will be held at 10:00am until a Memorial Service begins at 11:00am, Saturday, May 14, 2016 at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel.
