Michael Allen Henry, Sr. was born on April 6, 1957 in Philadelphia, PA to the late Deacon Moses A. Henry, Sr. and Claudia Alva Hart-Waters Henry. He made his transition to be with the Lord form this life on January 3, 2021 in Pensacola, FL. Reared in a loving home, he was one of six children, one of whom, sister Regina Fay Henry-Brown preceded his in death. He received his education in Philadelphia Public School System where he graduated from Germantown High School, Class of 1974. Commonly known to his family and childhood friends as "Moo Moo", Michael attended the alma mater of may Henry family members by enrolling into Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University (FAMU). While at FAMU, he majored in Business Administration in the School of Business and Industry (SBI) and was involved in Various Campus organizations including ROTC. In the fall of 1975, he pledged the Upsilon Psi chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Incorporated with 5 other young men collectively known as the "Solid Six" where he was often referred to as "Collie High".

After graduating from FAMU, Michael was employed in Management with General Motors in Pontiac, MI. He also worked with John Deere in Moline, IL and was eventually led to Pensacola, FL where he worked with Merrill Lynch as one of few African American Stockbrokers in the State of FL at the time.

He married his college girlfriend from Jacksonville, FL Janetha D. Wright (Henry) and three children Michael Henry, Jr.; Anita Henry and Matthew Henry. During his professional career as a businessman, ha also continued his military service as a member of the US Army Reserves for over 20  years, and eventually achieving the rank of Major prior to his discharge.

Whether referred to as Michael, Moo, Coolie, Pops, Granddad or simply Mike, he was loved and cherished by many who knew him for his comedic and energetic personality that filled the room whenever he was present. He leaves to mourn his memory, his three children: Michael A. Henry (Monyanita), Anita Henry. And Matthew Henry, four grandchildren;: Quinton, Kyndle, Janeya, and Yvonne; one sister, Mary Alice Maniero; and three brothers, Reginald Henry, Moses A. Henry, Jr. (Pamela) and Markanthony Henry and a host of family and friends.
