Michael Thomas Marciniak, 75, of Pensacola Beach, FL, passed away Monday, August 11, 2025.

Mike was born on September 5, 1949, in Chicago, IL. After graduating from Washington High School, he attended the University of Illinois at Chicago until he enlisted in the Air Force. Using the GI Bill, he continued his education while working full-time and supporting his family. He worked at U.S. Steel then made his career at the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District, from which he retired in 2008. Mike had a strong sense of duty and unwavering love for his wife, his family, and his country. He loved taking road trips to explore the U.S., especially, Yellowstone and Michigan. He was a quiet, determined, loving man who met the challenges of life by using his abilities to make things better. The value he put on learning, his strong moral character, his love for his family, and the importance he put on taking time to enjoy life, set the model for his children and grandchildren to follow. He will be so missed but never absent from our hearts and lives.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Andrew and Marie Thillen Marciniak; as well as his brothers, Gerald and Joseph Marciniak.

Survivors include his beloved wife, Kathleen Cross Marciniak; children, Todd Marciniak, Amy Sparkowski (William), and Laura Dekker (Brian); his brother, John Marciniak; a sister-in-law, Pearl Marciniak; mother-in-law, Dorothy Cross; sister-in-law, Carol Piazza (Tony); brother-in-law, Gary Cross (Nancy); as well as his grandchildren, Augustus, Andrew (Abigail), Alyssa, Benjamin, Nathan, Aubrey, Michael, and Luke.

A private family interment will be held at Barrancas National Cemetery, Pensacola, FL with military honors.
