Mildred Rice Broxton, age 98, of Pensacola, FL, went home to be with the Lord on, Monday, December 22, 2025, in Pensacola, FL. Mildred was born in Ocoee, TN, to the late Oliver and Pearl Cate Rice. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 71 years, Theron Leroy Broxton, and four brothers and two sisters.

Mildred was a loving mother and grandmother who graduated as Salutatorian from Polk County High School and graduated with an AA degree from Tennessee Wesleyan College. She was the President of the Garden Club in Pensacola, FL.  She enjoyed spending time helping out anywhere she could, as school room mother, Cub Scout den mother, PTA, planning of family reunions, and engaging in politics.  She worked as a bookkeeper and secretary during college, traveled to several foreign countries and all of the USA. She was a member of the Shiloh Baptist Church in Ocoee, TN.

Those left to cherish her memory include three sons, Ferris Lee Broxton, and his wife Linda, Roger Kay Broxton, and his wife, Valerie, Robert Edward Broxton, and his wife, Frances; four grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.  She was also blessed with several nieces and nephews who also survive.

Visitation will be held from 11:00am until a Funeral Service begins at 12:00pm Thursday, January 8, 2026, at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel, with Chaplain David Stocker officiating. A committal service will follow at Bayview Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial contributions be made to any of the following, Boy Scouts of America, Salvation Army, Waterfront Mission, or Peoples Health Services Hospice, or personal choice of donation.
