Obituary

Mildred E. Harbert 1921-2011 There is a celebration going on in heaven as God has called another home. Mildred E. Harbert, 89, died January 5, 2011. She was born February 26, 1921 in Sacred Heart, MN of Norwegian parents. Mildred had five brothers. After graduation from High School she attended St. Barnabus Hospital Nursing School in Minneapolis. As a newly licensed RN she traveled to Bremerton, WA where she worked as head nurse in a newly built hospital until she met and married Charles W. Harbert, a naval aviator. After 26 years as a Navy wife they retired in Pensacola where she went to work at Sacred Heart Hospital as an RN on St. Pauls. She was active in the Garden Club, Pensacola Womens Club and a group leader in Bible Study Fellowship. She is survived by her son, James Harbert, daughter Sue Anne Crosson (Gary), grandchildren Amanda (Dosher) and Jason (Crosson) and great grandchildren Anabelle (Dosher), Dusty and Trevor (Crosson). She is preceded in death by her husband Capt. Charles W. Harbert, father Andrew Williams, mother Thora Berentson Aase Williams, brothers Omar, Bernt, Juel, Bjarne and Arthur. A visitation will be held at Harper Morris Memorial Chapel from 12:30pm to 1:30pm on Wednesday January 12, 2011. This will be followed by a procession to Barrancas National Cemetery and a short service to be held in the pavilion beginning at 2:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Covenant Hospice, 5041 N. 12th Ave., Pensacola, FL 32504. A special thanks to the Nurses and staff of Covenant Hospice for their kindness and efforts. HARPER-MORRIS MEMORIAL CHAPEL is in charge of arrangements.
