Mildred Creighton Parker, 91, of Pensacola, FL passed away on Friday, October 10, 2014. Mildred was born in Pensacola, FL on February 23, 1923 at her family home in Ferry Pass. She attended Ferry Pass Elementary School and Pensacola High School and was a lifelong member of Ferry Pass United Methodist Church. After high school, she began her 30 year career at the Naval Air Station in Pensacola where she met the love of her life, Clyde Mason Parker, whom she married on July 18, 1947. They were happily married for 39 years, until Clyde's passing in 1986. During their life together, Mildred and Clyde chose to remain in Ferry Pass, building a home near her parents and raising their two sons, Mickey and Randy. Mildred was always very active in her church, from participating in youth group as a teenager, to Golden Agers in later life. She will always be remembered for her love of God, family, friends and church. On October 10, 2014, during the same hours her spirit was departing this life, her great-granddaughter, Cameron Lee was being born. We take comfort in knowing these two sweet souls recognized one another in their crossing. Mildred was preceded in death by her father, Morris Hollihand Creighton; mother, Jennie Jernigan Creighton; husband, Clyde Mason Parker; beloved grandson, Creighton Tippins Parker; brother, Robert Creighton; sisters, Hazel Jones, Louise Creighton, Syble Creighton and Lillie Mae Bryant. She is survived by son, Mickey Creighton Parker, Julie Tippins Parker; son, Randy Mason Parker and wife, Susan Parker; granddaughter, Jordan Parker McDaniel and husband, Mark McDaniel; grandsons, Mason Parker, Kyle Parker and his fiancé, Kylene Krieger; great-granddaughters, Parker Virginia McDaniel and Cameron Lee McDaniel. During the past few years, special caregivers became part of her family including, Bobbi Petersen, Ann Hawkins and Jewell Perl. Additional survivors include her numerous cousins, nephews and nieces, extended family and church family. A Celebration of Life Service, officiated by Rev. Dr. Nancy B. Warner, will be held at 2:00pm Tuesday, October 14, 2014 at Ferry Pass United Methodist Church with a reception immediately following in the Fellowship hall. Family graveside services will be held at 12:30pm, at Whitmire Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Mason Parker, Kyle Parker, Mark McDaniel, Bill Miller, Chris Jones and Donnie Fleming. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Ferry Pass United Methodist Church, 7300 N. Davis Hwy, Pensacola, FL 32514.
