Miriam Malone, age 91, of Pensacola passed away March 4, 2009. Miriam was born on October 10, 1917, in Sparta, Georgia, to Mattie Rogers and Herbert Davis Chapman. She graduated from high school in Atlanta, Georgia, and received an Associate degree in Accounting from Georgia State College for Women in Milledgeville, Georgia. She worked for the Georgia State Department of Education and the Interstate Commerce Commission. Miriam also worked at the Pensacola Junior College in the Business Office. Miriam has been a resident of Pensacola for the past 44 years. She was a member of First Baptist Church for 35 years and a member of the Gleaners Sunday School Class. Miriam also enjoyed her bridge club friends for many years. Preceding Miriam in death was her loving husband, Ray Camp Malone, Sr., of 62 years. Also preceding Miriam were her infant twin daughters, Martha and Miriam; three sisters, Esther Berry and Mary Nixon of Atlanta, and Martha Parker of Griffin, Georgia; and infant granddaughter, Megan Malone Hudspeth. Survivors include two daughters, Susan Schwab (Bob) of Greenville, South Carolina, and Carol Hudspeth (Barry) of Pensacola, one son, Ray Malone, Jr. (Linda) of Pace; six grandchildren, Carrie Bortz (Chris), Brock Koonce, Stacey Ramay (Jeffrey), Brett Hudspeth (Amanda), Collyn Matusiak, and Melissa Hutcherson (Curt); five great grandchildren, Mirah Bortz, Haylee Matusiak, Blake Matusiak, Sydney Grace Hudspeth, Louise Ramay, and Abigail Ray Hudspeth; special niece, Judith P. Edwards, Atlanta; special sister-and brother-in-law, Marion and Bill Berge, Lexington, Kentucky; and several loved nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., on Friday, March 6, 2009, at Harper Morris Memorial Chapel. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 7, 2009, at 10:00 a.m. at Pleitz Chapel, First Baptist Church, Pensacola, Florida. Burial will be at Bayview Memorial Park.
