MSGT Clyde E. Johnson, USAF (ret), 85, was born in Crossroads, AL, and died Monday, May 26, 2014 in Pensacola, FL. He attended Baldwin County High School and Troy State Teacher's College where he met his future wife, Barbara. He served in the U.S. Army and U.S. Air Force where his military career took him to many domestic and international assignments. When he retired from the military, he attended the University of West Florida where he received degrees in systems science and accounting. He embarked on a second career with Martin-Marietta where he worked on the space shuttle project. Mr. Johnson retired to Pensacola where he enjoyed his Myrtle Grove Methodist Church family, Crimson Tide football, and Pensacola Wahoos baseball. His was predeceased by his wife, parents, and siblings. His memory is cherished by his sons, Thomas (Melissa), Robert (Jodene), David, Larry (Sandra); his nieces, Marjorie Bond and Nell Radde and numerous grandchildren and other relatives. Graveside services and burial will be at Barrancas National Cemetery on Thursday, May 29, at 11:00am with Pastor Riley Richardson officiating.
