Murray J. Holt, age 80, passed away, Friday, February 12, 2021. Murray was born on February 18, 1940 in Elkmont, AL to Cecil A. Holt and Grayce Loveless Holt. He graduated from Pensacola High School and attended Pensacola Junior College as well as the University of West Florida.

Murray began his career with the Pensacola Police Department in 1961, but was later drafted in 1965 and served his country during the Vietnam War in the Army's 7th Calvary, 1 ^st Calvary Division Air Mobile. Upon his return from Vietnam, he resumed his career with the Pensacola Police Department where he continued to serve the community for 34 years.

Following his retirement from the Police Department, he enjoyed beekeeping as a hobby, and spending time with this family. He was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church.

Murray is preceded in death by his parents, Cecil A. Holt and Grayce Loveless Holt.

Murray is survived by his three children, daughter, Kylie Holt Baisden (Richard); sons, Ryan Holt (Trisha), Adam Holt (Jillian). He also leaves behind four Grandchildren, Taylor Baisden (Emily), Peyton Baisden, Rowan Holt and Emerson Holt, as well as his great-grandchild, Bennett Baisden. Murray is also survived by his siblings, brother, Terry Holt of Birmingham, Gloria Zaugg of Birmingham, Elizabeth Richbourg of Pensacola and John Delmar III of Pensacola.

A visitation will be held from 8:00 am until the funeral service begins at 9:00 am on Thursday, February 18, 2021 at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel. Burial will follow at Barrancas National Cemetery.
