Myra Lou Holycross Canaday 1926-2009 Myra Lou Holycross Canaday, born July 15, 1926 to Clifton and Christine Holycross in Marysville, Ohio departed this life peacefully August 19, 2009 at Creekside Village in Pensacola, FL. She was the devoted wife of R. Burton Canaday, Pensacola. Myra and Burt were united in marriage January 12, 1946 in Plain City, Ohio. Myra attended Ohio State University and learned from her parents a deep appreciation of nature, which she imparted to her children. Formerly residents of Indiana and Ohio, they retired to Gulf Breeze, FL in 1973. She was a volunteer at Gulf Breeze Hospital for several years. Myra was a member of St. Luke United Methodist Church. Her parents and her sister Marilyn preceded her in death. She leaves to cherish her memories her beloved husband of 63 years R. Burton Canaday; three sons, Barry (Pat) Canaday, of Bend, Oregon, Craig (Teri) Canaday of Jackson, TN, Riff (Pam) Canaday of McMinneville, Oregon; one daughter, Star (Bob) Christie of Mobile, AL, 10 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. A memorial service celebrating Myras life will be held Saturday, August 22, 2009 at 2:00 PM in the auditorium at Azalea Trace Retirement Village, 10100 Hillview Drive, Pensacola, Florida 32514.
