Myrle Lee Bjorklund, 82, of Pensacola passed away Wednesday, November 23, 2011. Mrs. Bjorklund was born on May 14, 1929 in Volga, SD to Edwin and Eva (Lee) Dahl. After graduating from Volga High School, she married her high school sweetheart, Darrel E. Bjorklund, on January 5, 1951. During his 30 year career in the United States Marine Corps, Myrle was a dedicated and supportive Marine Corps wife and mother of their four children. After his retirement as a Brigadier General, they settled in Pensacola where Myrle was an active member in many capacities at Grace Lutheran Church. They were married for 61 years. She was a loving and devoted wife and mother who will be greatly missed. She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Ronald Einar Bjorklund; brother, Burton Wilbur Dahl; sister, Arlis Moe. She is survived by her loving husband, Darrel E. Bjorklund; son, Richard Lee Bjorklund (Marcia Clark); daughter, Robin Marie Bjorklund (Ed OConnell); daughter, RheeAnn Bjorklund Hillis (Doug); daughter-in-law, Elaine Bjorklund; grandson, John Bjorklund (Chrissy); granddaughter, Hannah Marie Hillis; grandsons, Matthew Hargus and Andy OConnell; great grandson, Tyler Hargus. The family will receive friends from 10:00am until the Memorial Service to begin at 11:00am Thursday, December 1, 2011 at Grace Lutheran Church with Pastor Stephen Linck officiating. Inurnment will follow at Barrancas National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Grace Lutheran Church, 6601 N. 9th Ave., Pensacola, FL 32504 or to Creekside Senior Village (For: Employee Holiday Fund), 9015 University Pkwy, Pensacola, FL 32514.
