Obituary

Myron Charles Rosenthal, 81, a lifelong resident of Pensacola, FL, died Sunday, February 2, 2025. Myron passed comfortably at home following the recent health and medical challenges he faced with courage and the perpetual good nature which was recognized by all who knew him.  Myron was born on May 23, 1943, in Pensacola, FL. Following his 1961 graduation from Pensacola High School, he attended The University of Southern Mississippi and graduated in 1965 with a degree in Finance. A 4th generation Pensacolian, Myron returned home to teach Business Law and Math at Escambia High School. He briefly sold insurance for New York Life and eventually enjoyed a more than 30-year career in brokerage and financial planning. His curiosity and enthusiasm for the market continued well past his Morgan Stanley retirement. Friends and family could always count on Myron to keep them up to date with the current state of the market in which he so passionately loved to study and share. In addition to finance, Myron thoroughly enjoyed spending time on the golf course with good friends. Despite claiming he "wasn't very good," his golf friends share stories about the infamous hole in one, and how he was uniquely, "a happy golfer" and a pleasure to be around. Myron appreciated all kinds of music, and enjoyed playing several instruments including the piano, guitar, and his favorite, the drums. He relished any new electrical gadget. Neighbors can confirm his musical enthusiasm coming through on a new set of speakers or electric instrument. Fortunately for his children, rock and roll and band practice was always encouraged and welcomed in their home. Myron served in the United States Army Reserves, and was a lifelong member of Temple Beth El, where he served as Temple President from 1985-1987.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Sidney and Myra (Levy) Rosenthal and his brother, Joesph Rosenthal, all of Pensacola, FL.

Myron is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years, Sandra (Sandy Parks) Rosenthal, daughter, Lisa Duncan, of Denver, CO, son, Sidney Rosenthal (Cate) of Pensacola, FL and their children, Catherine, Marion, Violet, Kit, Caroline, and Collier, who affectionately knew and loved him as "Poppy."

The family would like to express their sincere gratitude for the exceptional care and additional support provided by HomeInstead, Inc. And in particular, the meaningful relationships they have gained with special caregivers, Savannah, Maria, and Costella.

Myron was a loving husband, father, and friend. His honesty and decency as well as his loyalty and pride for his family will be his legacy.
