IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Nancy Carolyn
Allen Bradley
September 7, 1934 – May 3, 2023
Nancy Carolyn Allen Bradley of Pensacola. FL passed away on Wednesday, May 3, 2023, at the age of 88.
Nancy was born on September 7, 1934, in Savannah, TN. She was raised there by her loving parents, Horace, and Icie Allen. After high school, Nancy moved to Memphis, TN to attend Memphis State. She then worked as an executive assistant at the Naval Base located in Memphis. While working at the base, she met Bedford Bradley (Brad), a Navy pilot, and soon thereafter they were married. They were stationed in a variety of locations before retiring in Pensacola to raise their children.
Nancy was the fun, vibrant, driving force of her family. She could be found either on the golf course, on the beach or in her garden. She picked up golf when she met Brad, as he was an avid golfer, and they enjoyed traveling together to play golf courses near and far. She had a feisty spirit and quick, dry wit. She was beloved and cherished by all those close to her.
Volunteering at First Presbyterian Church was a mission of hers with countless hours devoted to their reception services and as a member of the Session. She loved the community at the Church and was a fixture there for many years.
One of the greatest joys of her life was spending time with her grandchildren. Nana to some, Grandma to others, they all adored her.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Horace and Icie Allen and her husband, Bedford Bradley.
Nancy is survived by her children, Bedford Bradley Jr. and his wife Nancy of Pensacola, Elizabeth Pitman and her husband Andy of Dunwoody GA, and her grandchildren, Clark Bradley and his wife Virginia, Maggie Shaw and her husband David, Jonathan Pitman and Michael Pitman.
