Obituary

Nancy Paulsen, who valiantly fought the demon of cancer, passed this veil of tears on to her heavenly reward on Wed. Aug. 6, 2008. She was surrounded by her family who loved her and of whom she was so proud. Nancy was born on Feb. 6, 1943 to Joe and Maureen Chalker in the old Navy Hospital aboard NAS, Mainside. She is preceded in death by her father Joe and her grandmother, Willie Belle Weathers. Nancy was a 1961 graduate of Escambia High School (GO REBELS!!) and was actively involved in her school reunions. She loved to cruise, taking many trips to Alaska, the Caribbean and Hawaii. She also loved to play Bingo and visit Biloxi several times a year. Nancy is survived by her husband of 46 years, Ramon A. (Butch) Paulsen, her children, Theresa (Clark) James, Tammy (Dennis) Salter and Cindy LeBrun. She also leaves to mourn her grandchildren, Alicia (Heath) Croom, Joseph James, Heather James and Dalton Salter, as well as her mother Maureen Chalker. She also leaves behind special friends Rachel Parker, Linda Westmoreland, Viki Knisbell, Rosemarie Wells, Barbara Nelson and Nan Oldeen. Nancy wished to convey her special thanks and appreciation to Dr. Tom Sunnenburg, special nurse Pete ONeil, Dr. Jim Smith and her angel nurse, Rachel Hudson. Pallbearers will be Heath Croom, Chris Echele, Floyd Westmoreland, Johnnie Lovelace, Paul Smith and Clifford Vincent. Visitation for friends and family will be observed 2-4pm, Sunday, Aug. 10, 2008 at Harper Morris Memorial Chapel. Funeral services will commence at 11am, Monday Aug. 11, 2008 at Harper Morris Memorial Chapel with Rev. Clain Roberts officiating. Internment to follow at Barrancas National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, Nancy requests donations be made to Covenant Hospice, 5041 N. 12th Avenue, Pensacola, Fl 32504. HARPER-MORRIS MEMORIAL CHAPEL is in charge of arrangements.
