Obituary

Nancy Ann White Stainback, of 10100 Hillview Drive, Pensacola, FL, died October 8, 2013 at the age of 92. Born in Pensacola, she returned to the city in 2001 after living in multiple locations in the U. S., Europe and West Indies as the wife of an Air Force officer. She was a graduate of Florida State College for Women (now Florida State University) earning a bachelor's degree in education in 1943. Nancy devoted herself primarily to ensuring the welfare and happiness of her family and did so with magnificent success. To every location the family lived, she brought the tenderness and love that made each house a home. Nancy enjoyed gardening, cooking, painting, needlework, golf, and tennis. She and her husband of 64 years, Frank, were tennis instructors during their retirement. Their devotion to one another was readily apparent and a heart-warming inspiration to all who knew them, especially their family. Always with a fondness for the beach and its environs, they returned to Pensacola, the city where they met and courted, to savor their remaining years. Mrs. Stainback is preceded in death by her husband; Frank Pleasants Stainback, Jr.; her father, Malcolm E. White; her mother, Nannie Hicks White and her sister, Doris White Lamar. She is survived by her son, Frank Pleasants Stainback, III of Greenwood, MS (Laura Chassaniol Stainback); son, David Allen Stainback of Jupiter, FL (Nancy Stair Stainback) and son, Robert Dale Stainback of Sandestin, FL (Judith Ann La Marche). She is also survived by grandchildren; Frank Stainback, IV of Greenwood, MS, Melissa Stainback Mixon of Lake Charles, LA, Meredith Brown of Schlater, MS, Andrew Stainback, of Greenwood, MS, Meaghan Stainback of Chicago, IL, Grace Stainback of Portland, OR, Paul Lydolph of Eagle Mountain, UT and Tamara Lydolph of Blackhawk, CO. Additionally she is survived by great grandchildren; Sara Mixon, Oliver Mixon, Maximilian Mixon, William Brown, Hayes Brown, Louis Brown, Eliza Jane Stainback, Victoria Lydolph, Margaret Lydolph, Sren Lydolph and Teri Gutierrez.
