Norma Delores Milstead Peacock, 70, left this life peacefully on August 8, 2026, surrounded by love.

Norma was born on June 23, 1956, in Pensacola, Florida, to Burl and Elaine Milstead and was raised in the Farm Hill community. She later made her home in the Clear Springs community of Alabama, a place that remained close to her heart throughout her life.

Norma found joy in the simple things. She loved dancing and playing softball, swimming and fishing on Perdido River, cutting grass, being outdoors, playing the piano, and spending time with her beloved cats. She had a special love for strawberry ice cream and treasured the gospel singings at Clear Springs United Methodist Church. She also loved riding her grand-poodles around on the golf cart, something that always brought her joy.

She is survived by her daughter, Jessica (Wayne) Ratkovec; her son, Joe Peacock; her grandchildren, Bailey (Lillie) Paxson, Kyle (Auriana) Peacock, Kayla Hughes, and Meagan (Bret) Jones; and her great-grandchildren, Ava, Ainsley, Bradley, Shellby, Jordynn, Alli, Carly, Jace, and Wesley.

Norma also leaves behind special friends James (Julie) Peacock, Thomas Bell, Erica Peacock, and the ladies of Clear Springs Church, along with the Peacock family, who were never simply in-laws, but family in every way that mattered.

She is also survived by her sisters, Synora (Steve) Sutton, Robbie (Wayne) Hodge, Cheryl (Ken) Smallwood, and Gina Wright; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Her life was a reminder that blood may make us relatives, but love, grace, forgiveness, and choosing to show up for one another are what truly make us family.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Burl and Elaine Milstead; her grandparents; her beloved grandsons, Hunter Paxson and Paul Hughes; and her brother-in-law, Ron Wright.

Norma's family would like to extend a special and heartfelt thank you to Synora Sutton for the love, support, companionship, and time she gave Norma. Norma loved Synora dearly, and the love and presence she gave her, especially during the times it mattered most, will never be forgotten.

The family also extends heartfelt thanks to the nursing team at West Florida Hospital, the nursing and therapy teams at Encompass Rehabilitation Hospital, and the VITAS Hospice House at West Florida Hospital for the compassion, dignity, and care shown to Norma and her family.

In her final days, Norma spoke with excitement about seeing her mom and dad and her grandsons again on the other side. Those words brought comfort to those who loved her and served as a beautiful reminder that, for Norma, goodbye was not forever.

For those who loved Norma, this isn't simply goodbye.

It's knowing that somewhere beyond what we can see, a daughter has found her mom and dad again, a grandmother has wrapped her arms around her grandsons, and the people who have been waiting for her finally got to say,

“There you are.”
