Norma Yates, 74, a longtime resident of Pensacola, FL died Friday, March 14, 2014 surrounded by her loving family. Born in Decatur, TN she moved to Pensacola in 1957 and went to work for Chemstrand, now known as Solutia. She worked there until 1996, when she began her retirement. During her retirement, she enjoyed traveling and spending time with her grandchildren. She was a dedicated Christian and a member of East Brent Baptist Church. Norma was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Yates. She is survived by her children; Debra Bradshaw (San), Harold Yates, Jr. (Tina) and Susan Sheets (Keith) and 4 grandchildren. Visitation will be held from 9:30am Friday, March 21, 2014 with Funeral services to begin at 10:30am at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel. Dr. Dale Patterson will be officiating. Burial will follow at Barrancas National Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be San Bradshaw, Harold Yates, Jr., Timmy Yates, Darren Yates, Bruce Childers and Trey Bradshaw. Keith Sheets will serve as an honorary pallbearer. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Epilepsy Foundation of Florida, P. O. Box 11096, Pensacola, FL 32524.
