Obituary

Northup Miller Wilkinson, 78, died Thursday, February 20, 2014 at home surrounded by family and friends. Mr. Wilkinson was born March 3, 1935 in Pensacola, FL to Marjorie Murdock Wilkinson and George Harper Wilkinson, Sr. He was a resident of his beloved Pensacola his entire life. He was preceded in death by his parents. Mr. Wilkinson worked as a civil servant at Pensacola Naval Air Station for 36 years. An extraordinarily gifted and talented pianist, he was a member of Christ Church his entire life, and had a great love for the church and congregation. He was a devoted son and caregiver to his mother, whom he loved dearly. Mr. Wilkinson shared his incredible gift of humor with all, and he lived a life full of joy. He took great pleasure in travel, classic cars, camellias and cardinals. Perhaps more than anything, he loved meeting new people and sharing life stories with them. Mr. Wilkinson is survived by his brother, George Harper Wilkinson, Jr. (Frances) of Pensacola; his nephews, John R. Ellery (Tari) of Germantown, TN and Aaron A. Wilkinson (Susan) of New Orleans, LA; his niece, Ashley Wilkinson Meyer (Chris) of Pensacola, FL; two grand nieces, Madeline and Kate Ellery; his grand nephew, Beau Harper Wilkinson; life-long friends, Bill and Jo Ann Bjorensen, Richard Freeman, John Bailey, Jeff Miller and many other family members and friends who love him dearly. Memorial Service will be held 2:00pm Tuesday, March 11, 2014 at Christ Episcopal Church. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Christ Episcopal Church, 18 W. Wright St., Pensacola, FL 32501.
