Bill Solice, 91, of Pensacola peacefully passed away Friday, November 28, 2009. He was born in Robeline, LA on November 25, 1918, and just celebrated his 91st birthday with family and friends. Bill served in the US Marine Corp from 1936 to 1945, and was Honorably discharge due to a back injury, while serving his country. He retired from Civil Service in 1973, and spent the next 34 years with his beloved wife Ann of 67 years. Bill was a very active member of St. Paul Catholic Church, as well as the Knights of Columbus. He loved to go to family reunions and visit with family in Louisiana. Bill was a good man as a father, grandfather and a friend to many. He raised his family of six children with daily examples of honesty, integrity and religious practices. We will miss dad but have wonderful memories and examples to pass on to our children and grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his loving wife Ann of 67 years; his oldest son Bill, Jr.; his granddaughter Ashley; several brothers and sisters and parents Paul and Christina Solice. He is survived by his five children Priscilla Densmore (Larry) of Raleigh, NC; sons Larry Solice, Stephen Solice (Sondra) all of Pensacola, Scott Solice (Nancy) of Raleigh, NC; daughter Janet Sewell (Nathan) of Albuquerque, NM; two nieces commonly called his Pensacola daughters Michelle Calvit and Victoria Dank; 18 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; and one great great granddaughter; sister Lucille Flores; brother Woodrow Solice both of Shreveport, LA; and many nieces, nephews, cousins as well as many great friends all of whom he cherished. A Prayer Service will be held at 5:00pm Tuesday, December 1, 2009 at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel, with the visitation following until 7:00pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00am Wednesday, December 2, 2009 at St. Paul Catholic Church, with Msgr. Michael Reed , celebrant. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Knights of Columbus. HARPER-MORRIS MEMORIAL CHAPEL is in charge of arrangements.
