Olive S. Boland, 92, went peacefully to her final rest on Sunday, July 25, 2021 surrounded by her children and grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Ardney James "A.J." Boland; her parents, Dr Hiram Aubrey Stephens and Sarah Lillian Stephens, and her siblings, Violet, Aubrey Jean, Lee, Earl, and H.A., Jr., and great grandchild, Kegan Hatzilias.

The second youngest of six children, Olive was born and raised in Ponce de Leon, FL in 1929. She attended Florida State University, where she met her husband A.J. and subsequently moved to Pensacola and started a family. Olive was active in the community, working at Montclair Elementary School and attending St Mark United Methodist Church since the 1960s. She and her family spent many summers at the beach and camping at Ft Pickens, building friendships with families that returned year after year.

She was very artistic and loved to paint, bringing the vibrancy of natural landscapes, flowers, and birds into our homes. She loved spending time in her back yard, working hard to build an oasis for redbird cardinals, white squirrels, and many songbirds. Olive was intrinsically kind, delighted by the world and the people in it. Her children and grandchildren treasured her immensely, and we will miss her terribly. She gave us so much, enriched our lives immeasurably, and helped each of us become who we are today.

She is survived by her children, Ardney Boland (Anita), Stephanie Brotherton, Diane Boland (Paul Tate), Patrick Boland (Andrea), and Bruce Boland; her five grandchildren, Shaye Brotherton, Jessica Matthess (Andrew), Terrell Hatzilias (Karol), Jamie Boland (Joy), and Robbie Boland (Stephanie); and seven great grandchildren, Aiden, Juliette, Haley and Emma Matthess, Keira Hatzilias, and Kaylee and Ronan Boland.

Visitation will be 10:00am until the Funeral Service at 11:00am Wednesday, July 28, 2021 at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel. A Graveside Services will be 2:30pm EST Friday, July 30, 2021 at Beth Page Cemetery in Wacissa, FL. Flowers are welcome.
