Obituary

Olivia Rose Keene was born to Ross and Stacy Keene in Pensacola, FL on July 3, 2002. Her sister and very best friend, Gwyneth, was born just three short years later. Olivia and Gwyneth had an inseparable bond. When she was young, we were entertained by Livvy's gymnastics in the backyard and dance parties in the living room. While ballet held a special place in her heart throughout her life, she enjoyed piano and violin and taught herself how to play the ukulele. Though her extensive cancer treatments delayed college, she was always learning, reading, and gathering information on everything she was passionate about. From gourmet cooking to greenhouse gardening, from international travel to learning foreign languages, from mountain hiking to capturing the most beautiful photographs, she was fascinated by the excitement of the unknown. Unfortunately, Olivia spent much time "waiting for her life to begin" - but she was determined to be prepared for the adventure of life beyond hospitals and cancer. She truly made the most of every moment while waiting.

In May 2019, Livvy met the love her life, a long-haired Dachshund she named "Oliver," who became her constant companion: always there to lick her tears and greet her with kisses upon her return from treatment in Atlanta, Houston, Switzerland, and after her stays at Baptist Hospital in Pensacola. After receiving a pottery wheel from Make-A-Wish, Olivia fulfilled her dream of becoming an accomplished ceramics artist and opened her own virtual boutique Rosebud Ceramics.

On August 6, 2024, Olivia WON her six-year battle with Synovial Cell Sarcoma! Jesus welcomed her HOME. Olivia's life, though too brief, was a beacon of love, joy, and kindness. The love of Jesus was highly visible through her words, actions, and laughter. She had such a gentle yet powerful soul.

Olivia is preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Reid and Doris Keene, to whom Olivia brought tremendous joy and purpose.

Olivia is survived by her loving parents, Ross and Stacy (Brown) Keene; her sister, Gwyneth Keene; and her puppies, Oliver and Jasper; her maternal grandparents, David and Kiki Brown; her uncle, Bruce Keene (Bonnie); and her aunts, Laura Keene (Barry Beroset), Vanessa Fernandez (Shane), Jessica Cox, and Andrea Puente (Jairo); Olivia's many cousins and extended relatives brought her great joy.
