Patricia "Diane" Snyder, 81, died peacefully August 25, 2026 at her Pensacola home with family by her side.

Diane was born December 7, 1944 in Huntington, West Virginia, to the late Kathryn and Charles Marushi. From an early age, she developed a love of music and dancing, especially tap dancing, and later delighted in passing along a few of those tap-dancing steps to her granddaughters.

Diane married Robert "Bob" Eugene Snyder on April 10, 1965, in the Marshall University Chapel, beginning a marriage that would span more than six decades. Their life together took them from West Virginia to Ohio to Winchester, Virginia where they raised their two children. Eventually, they made their way to Pensacola, Florida, embarking on a business venture and building a life surrounded by family and friends while appreciating the beauty and lifestyle of the Gulf Coast. When they weren't traveling, they spent their summers in Burnsville, North Carolina, where they enjoyed the mountains and a closely knit community that became a second family.

Diane took great pride in her family and was also an accomplished businesswoman. Together, she and Bob owned PR Chemical & Paper Supply in Pensacola, where she served as president for ten years before retiring in 2006. Diane was a lifelong presbyterian and member of Trinity Presbyterian Church. She loved playing tennis and golf at Pensacola Country Club and Mountain Air Country Club. She was known for her mean backhand and scoring a hole-in-one. She was also a member of Pensacola Yacht Club where the staff memorized her favorite food orders and treated her like family.

Diane is survived by her husband; her daughter, Dawn Clay (Steven); her son, Shawn Snyder (Cara); her granddaughters, Madison and Gracie Clay, Emmy Kay, Melina, and Susanna Snyder; her sister, Cheryl Harmon; her nephew, Chris Harmon; her sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Pam and Bill Raney; her nephew and niece, Chris Raney and Michelle Angeline; nephews, Chad and Scott Snyder; and numerous extended family members and dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Harold "Bud" and Sue Snyder.

The family is deeply grateful to the many caregivers and healthcare professionals who touched Diane's life, especially those who cared for her with such patience, compassion, and dignity, including lasia Cassels, who helped care for Diane during her final three months. Their kindness and support meant more to Diane and her family than words can express.

A private service for family will be held August 29, 2026 at Harper Morris Memorial Chapel and a private committal will immediately follow at Bayview Memorial Park. The Rev. Dr. James McTyre will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes donations in Diane's memory to the Michael J. Fox Foundation, VITAS Hospice, or the Pensacola Humane Society, causes that were meaningful to Diane and her family.
