Patricia (Pat) Ann Grice passed away Sunday evening, November 1, 2026. She was a young 96 years old.

Born in Detroit, Michigan on July 27, 1930, at Grace Hospital, Pat spent her youth with her close nit family near the shores of Lake Huron. In the 1940s, her parents and brothers moved to Pensacola, FL while she attended two semesters at Mount Saint Joseph in Cincinnati, OH. On what was supposed to be a brief trip to visit her parents and brothers, she met a young entrepreneur, Francis Grice. They fell in love quickly and were married on October 7, 1950, and made a home in East Hill. Their first son, Michael, was born the following May. Francis and Pat went on to have six more children: Tommy, Terry, Karen, David, Susan, and Robin.

Pat took great pride in helping with Francis’s and his brother’s store, Grice Electronics. For many years, it was the premiere electronics store in the Pensacola area. Francis and Pat retired in the mid-1980s and spent their remaining years together exploring the United States with their motor home club before Francis sadly passed away from early onset Alzheimer’s disease in 1993.

Pat, who was cheerful, vibrant and forever young, loved traveling, reading, cooking, spending time with family, and going for drives. She loved visiting with her beloved brother Ferd Kleppner and sister-in-law Nancy in New Orleans. She even drove to New Orleans alone up until the age of 90 to visit Nancy and her niece and nephews.

Pat was an avid and accomplished bridge player, joining the Pensacola’s Newcomers Club soon after she moved to Pensacola. For decades she spent playing in multiple clubs and hosting bridge nights with friends, Marilyn, Barbara, and Diane.

Pat was a lifelong caregiver as she cared for husband at home for several years during his battle with Alzheimer’s, her daughter Susan during her cancer fight, and her granddaughters Kalee and Ashlee, whom she raised after Susan passed. Through her 80's Pat also went on to help her sister-in-law, Nancy, recover from surgery and frequently read to other loved ones while they were assisted living.

She took on many monikers over her life: Mrs. Grice, Francis’s wife, Mom. One cherished moniker was Grandma to John, Mary, Kalee, Ashlee, and Sarah. Well into her 70s and 80s, she never missed a swim meet, band performance, or dive meet.

Pat loved her family immensely and she was loved immensely by her family. She had a strong faith in God and took a lot of comfort in attending Mass.

Pat is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Francis Grice; parents, Dorothy and Fred Kleppner; brothers, Ferd and David Kleppner; children Terry and Susan Grice; and niece Beth Cortez.

Survivors include her children, Michael (Sylvia) Grice, Tommy Grice, David (Donna) Grice, Karen (Tim) Ross, Robin (George) Terlizzi; grandchildren John (Anna) Grice, Mary (Chris) Ross, Kalee (Jake) Hill, Ashlee (Cat) Grice, Sarah Terlizzi; great-grandsons Landon Grice and Cameron Grice; sister-in-law Nancy Kleppner; and nephews Stephen (Debbie) Kleppner, Tim (Kathy) Kleppner, and Mark (Julie) Kleppner.

A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:00 am, with doors opening at 9:15 am, Saturday, November 7, 2026, at the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart, with Monsignor Stephen Bosso as the celebrant. A funeral cortege to Holy Cross Cemetery will follow for interment.

The Grice family asks that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America and the American Cancer Society.
