Patricia Burge Jones, 73, of Gulf Breeze, FL passed away Saturday, April 14, 2018.

Patricia was born March 30, 1945 in Rochester, NY to two Italian-Americans, Joseph Burge and Theresa Callipare Burge. She volunteered as a candy striper in her late teens and completed training in business school. While living in Tallahassee, FL, she worked for the Bureau of Blind Services. It was in Tallahassee, Pat found the Lord, a passion she cultivated until her death. A homemaker for almost twenty years, Pat Jones worked as a daycare worker and records clerk prior to landing her final position at Community Life Preschool where she loved each of her students as if they were her own. A kid at heart herself, she found her true calling with these children showing all her love of life and sense of wonderment. Patty, as her siblings called her, was an active member of Brownsville Assembly of God. It was her deep faith that propelled her through these difficult, last couple of years. This cumulated into studying and receiving her ordination as a minister in April, 2018; her final dream realized.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Theresa Burge; her brother-in-laws, Gary Jones and Charles Jones.

She is survived by her children, Suzanne M. Davis of Gulf Breeze, FL, Katherine T. Jones of Broken Arrow, OK and James J. Jones of Gulf Breeze, FL; her daughter-in-law, Cynthia D. Jones of Gulf Breeze, FL and son-in-law, Aaron J. Cain of Broken Arrow, OK; her two grandchildren, Kayli A. Davis and James J. Jones, Jr. both of Gulf Breeze as well as her brother, Thomas Burge of Rochester, NY and her two sisters, Lorraine Thayer of Brockport, NY and Beverly Zimber of Fairport, NY; along with her brother-in-laws, Richard Thayer of Brockport, NY and David Zimber of Fairport, NY and her sisters-in-law, Barbara Jones of Gulf Breeze, FL, Vivian Jones of Gulf Breeze, FL and Kathie Burge of Rochester, NY and all of her nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Visitation will be held 1:30pm until a Funeral Service at 2:30pm Friday, April 20, 2018 at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel, 2276 Airport Blvd., Pensacola, FL. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Pensacola, FL.

Active pallbearers will be James Jones, Brian Jones, Sean Jones, Aaron Cain, Jeff Hall, and Rob Lutz.

Honorary Pallbearer will be Joey Jones.

The family has suggested a non-traditional donation of your favorite perennial flower to her home in Gulf Breeze, FL so a garden can be developed in her memory.

The family wants to extend special thanks to the numerous family, friends, church family, and work family members who supported her children and Pat during these last few weeks.
