Patricia “Pat” Regan, age 84, of Pensacola, Florida, passed away on January 21, 2026, with family by her side. Pat was devoted to her family and loved them with every fiber of her being. Her favorite toast was “Best family ever!” She was exceptionally talented, deeply driven, and she lived an adventurous life shaped by art, travel, and curiosity. Those who knew her will remember her passion, her determination, and the way she brought beauty and meaning into the lives around her.

Pat earned a bachelor’s degree in art from the University of Southern Mississippi and later continued her formal art education, attending the Pratt Institute in Venice, Italy, for graduate study.

Pat began her teaching career at Escambia High School in 1963, where she met the love of her life and future husband, Bob Regan. Bob became a Naval Officer, and together they traveled extensively throughout Southeast Asia, Europe, North Africa, and South America—experiences that enriched Pat’s view of the world and influenced her creative life.

A native of Mississippi, Pat made her home in Pensacola’s North Hill Historic District, where she lived and worked as an artist and educator. Throughout her career, Pat was a prolific and respected painter. Her work was displayed at the Broome Street Gallery, The National Arts Club, Salmagundi Club, and Pratt Institute in New York. Venues for One-person shows include Price-Campbell Gallery, Annette Howell Turner Center for the Arts, Valdosta, Georgia, Pensacola State College, and Pensacola Museum of Art. She has had numerous two-person shows with her daughter, Kristen Regan, including Space 301 Art Off Center in Mobile, Alabama, and the grand opening of Luna Fine Art Gallery at the Hilton on Pensacola Beach.

Pat’s work is in numerous international public and private collections including the collections of King Juan Carlos, Queen Sophia and Cristobal Colon, Duke of Varagua of Madrid, Spain. Museum collections include the Museo Naval - Madrid, Spain, Elliot Museum - Stuart Florida, Meridian Museum of Art - Meridian Mississippi, and Pensacola Museum of Art - Pensacola, FL.

She is represented in permanent collections including American Legation Museum in Tangier, Morrocco, Cinco Banderas and Pensacola State College; corporate collections include Innisfree Hotels and Woodlands Medical Center. Her paintings received numerous regional and national awards and were featured in publications such as Strokes of Genius, The Best of Watercolor I and II, and The Best of Sketching and Drawing. She was also the creator and author of Watercolor: A Painting Study Guide, developed in conjunction with a thirteen-part instructional television series she produced for WSRE.

Among her honors were the Ars Longa Vita Brevis Award from the Arts Council of Northwest Florida, 101st CLWAC Corporate Award at the National Arts Club in New York, Kendall-Jackson Gold Award from the Pensacola Museum of Art, and recognition from the Arts Council of Northwest Florida’s Outdoor Billboard Competition. Her work was exhibited at the Salmagundi Club in New York. Her most recent award in 2025 was at the Pensacola Museum of Art Members show.

Teaching remained a central part of Pat’s life. She lectured and conducted workshops throughout the United States and internationally, including in Amman, Jordan. She received the Excellence in Teaching Award from Pensacola Junior College. She also served her community through volunteer work on arts boards and advisory groups, including the North Hill preservation association, Visual arts Association, Mississippi Art Colony, Elcano Society, Anna Society, and was a founding member of First City Arts Center. She made numerous charitable donations of artwork throughout the years to aid in fundraising for local and national organizations.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Robert Regan. Her parents, Nattie Lee McGehee, Eva Mae Jones, and her younger sister, Gloria Jean Pace.

She is survived by her daughter, Shawna Regan-Fulton (Lance Fulton); daughter, Kristen Regan (James Miller); granddaughter, Shayla Fulton; and grandson, Finley Regan-Miller.
