Obituary

Patricia Ledet Spencer, 90, affectionately known by many as Patsy, Pat, Mom, or Mimi, was called to her eternal home on Sunday, May 21, 2023, from her home on Pensacola Beach.

Patsy was born on February 9, 1933, in Baton Rouge, LA to Raoul Able Ledet and Cecelia Stanley Ledet. She graduated from St. Joseph Academy High School and attended LSU where she was a cheerleader & a Delta Zeta pledge.

She was united in marriage to Capt. Robert Webb Spencer, USN (ret.) from 1953-1980. Together they raised 5 children while being moved to various parts of the country with the Navy. She was a Homemaker who lived her life, enjoying her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She grew up in Baton Rouge, LA, but Pensacola, FL was home.

She enjoyed volunteering as a Candy Striper at a local hospital in the 60's, volunteering at the Pensacola Beach Visitors Center, performing in the Senior Follies for several years, and being a member of the Optimist Club and the Pensacola Beach Women's Club. She attended Our Lady of Assumption Mission Catholic Church on Pensacola Beach and St. Ann Catholic Church in Gulf Breeze.

Patsy is preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Joseph Paul Ledet; her son, Robert Webb Spencer, Jr.; grandson, Carlisle Lucas Spencer; nephew, Steven Douglas Ledet; granddaughter, Christina Reaux; as well as her daughter-in-law, Noreen Spencer.

Survivors include her former husband, Capt. Robert Spencer, USN (ret.); daughters, Stacy Spencer Rowbal (Bob), Kathy Spencer, and Karen Spencer Osborne; son, Steve Spencer (Renae); sister-in-law, Kay Lee Ledet; nephew, Robert Christopher Ledet (Junette); granddaughters, Ginger Spencer Baker (Will), Rachel Reaux Lofton (Hal), Bethany Rowbal, and Shannon Rowbal; grandsons, Thomas Osborne (Kristin), Blake Osborne (Crystal), and Eric Reaux; daughter-in-law, Sandra Dunn Spencer; former son-in-law, Tom Osborne; she was also blessed with 10 great grandchildren.

A Committal Service will be held 11:00am Friday, August 4, 2023, at Rose Lawn Memorial Park, 4045 North St., Baton Rouge, LA 70806.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Little Sisters of the Poor, 1655 McGill Ave., Mobile, AL 36604.
