Obituary

Patsy Ann Dyer Davidson, 76, a Navy Wife who accompanied her husband to duty stations throughout the United States died Friday, August 30, 2019 at Sacred Heart Covenant Hospice.

Her husband Master Chief Gary P. Davidson retired from the Navy in 1981. Patty was born and grew up in Ranger, WV. She graduated from Guyan Valley High School in 1961. She later attended Cleveland Tech., Shelby, NC and Pensacola Junior College. She accompanied her husband to assignments in South Carolina, Missouri, Connecticut, Virginia, California, Kentucky and Florida. After the military the family lived in North Carolina before making Pensacola home. In 2006, after 22 years as a dedicated employee, she retired from the law firm of Moore, Hill and Westmoreland. Patty was a member of the Pensacola Symphony Orchestra Guild and Trinity Presbyterian Church.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Norma L. and Dewey W. Dyer; a sister, Imogene Hatfield and brothers, Ancil, Curtis and Jerry.

In addition to her husband of Pensacola, survivors include two sons, Jeffrey (Shelley) of Kennesaw, GA and Joseph (Stephanie) of Pensacola, FL; grandchildren, Cole, Emma, Anna, and Case; her sister, Betty Adkins of West Hamlin, WV and her brothers, Danny and Ron (Terra) of Huntington, WV.

Memorial Service will be held 10:00am Monday, September 16, 2019 at Trinity Presbyterian Church. A private graveside service was held at Barrancas National Cemetery in Pensacola, FL.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the youth ministry or the service committee at Trinity Presbyterian Church, 3400 Bayou Blvd., Pensacola, FL 32503.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff of Covenant Hospice, our Trinity Church Family, especially Pastor/Dr. Hugh Hamilton, A/Pastor Brian Yount, Eilene Minnery, Jill Clark, Ona Gilbert and Peg Couch. Additional thanks to friends and neighbors, Mary deLamerens, Pat and Bill Ottendoffer, Mary and Scott Thomas, Peggy Stephens and Judy Pinette.
