PAUL JOHN POLLAK, JR, 83, died August 12, 2020 of natural causes. He was born on July 10, 1937 in Berwyn / Brookfield, Illinois.
After graduating from Century High School, he enlisted in the US Army, serving as a Communication Specialist in the 711 th signal battalion. Following his service, he graduated from the University of West Florida with a degree in Microscopy. He worked as a Microscopic Engineer for 30 at years at Cytec Corporation.
He was a proud to be a Knights of Columbus and member of St Rosa Lima Catholic Church and recently a member of Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Church.
He pursued many interests over the years including photography, woodworking, modeling, and coin collecting. He was most proud of his aircraft models of WWII he built and collected.
He is preceded in death by his parents Paul John Pollak Sr and Rose Mary Kazar both of Pistany/Prague, Czechoslovakia, located in the heart of Europe.
He is survived by three sons, Paul John Pollak III, Richard Shawn Pollak, and Mark Anthony Pollak; four grandchildren, Paul John Pollak IV, Amanda Westby, Ryan A. Pollak, Danielle Pollak, and Ben Pollak and three great grandchildren, Paul John Pollak V, Samantha Pollak, and Valarie.
A memorial mass will be held at Nativity of our Lord Catholic Church on Friday, September 11, 2020 at 11:30 am followed by internment at Barrancas National Cemetery.
In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Catholic Charities of North West Florida.
