Heaven gained another Angel on June 19, 2014. Paula Ruth Hrbacek, 59, of Pensacola, FL passed away after a short, but courageous battle with cancer with her family at her side. Paula was born in Indianapolis, IN, daughter of William and Arleen Knoderer. She graduated from the University of Missouri with degrees in Journalism and Fine Arts. There she met and fell in love with the man of her dreams, Chris, and together have been married for 35 years. They moved to Pensacola from St. Louis 26 years ago and have been active members of the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart Parish Community. Paula truly enjoyed working with the youth through her involvement with both the Girl Scouts of America and Boy Scouts of America. She was an Art Teacher at both St. John the Evangelist and St. Michaels Catholic Schools. She is an internationally recognized author and poet with numerous non-fiction Christian Romance titles and various Craft guidebooks. Her artwork is displayed throughout the community. Paula is survived by her husband, Christopher of 35 years; children, Michael (Heather) of St. Louis, MO, David (Kathryn) of Mobile, AL, Marilyn (Chris) Mozley of Dothan, AL and Timothy from Pensacola. She has been blessed with 5 grandchildren. She also has 2 surviving brothers, John Knoderer of South Carolina and David Knoderer of Florida. Visitation beginning with the Rosary will be held at the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart from 5-7pm on Tuesday, June 24, 2014. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10am on Wednesday, June 25, 2014 also at the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart in Pensacola. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.
