March 5, 1947 – October 12, 2020
Paula Rogers Woodward went to be with the lord on October 12, 2020. She was a long time resident of Pensacola, FL, and had just recently moved to Milton to be closer to family.
Paula was born on March 5, 1947 in Alexander City, AL, to S.T "Slick" and Emogene Rogers. She graduated from Benjamin Russell High School and Auburn University. She continued her life in education by teaching middle school, high school, and adult education in the Escambia County School District for over 20 years.
She was an avid sports fan. She never missed watching an Auburn football, basketball, or baseball game. In addition to the Tigers, she was a fan of the New Orleans Saints, and the Atlanta Braves. She also enjoyed traveling the US with her best friend and companion, Jerry Beaver.
She spent 23 years as a US Navy spouse, giving her the opportunity to live in Hawaii, Greece, Athens, GA, Jacksonville, and finally Pensacola. She loved all things Navy, and never missed an Army vs Navy game.
She is preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her children; Jon Woodward, and Allison Woodward Gilmore (Bruce); Her siblings; Cathy Spires (Hank), and Tommy Rogers (Rachel); Four grandchildren; Jonathan Woodward, Tyler Woodward, Lindsey Gilmore, and Clark Gilmore; As well as a niece, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
Visitation will begin at 10:00am until the Memorial Service at 11:00am Saturday, October 17, 2020 at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel. We due ask that everyone adhere to Covid regulations.
