Pearl Gift Mueller, 104, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March10, 2013. She was born in Reading, PA and lived there until she moved with her family to Mobile, AL in 1918. In 1926, she graduated from Murphy High School and was employed as a secretary at the school until 1932. That year she married Henry F. Mueller and moved to Tampa, FL, where he was employed with Sears, Roebuck & Co. Over the years they were transferred to Miami & Jacksonville, FL, Atlanta & Augusta, GA and finally to Pensacola in 1948. During her lifetime Pearl traveled to 76 foreign countries. During their lives in Pensacola, Pearl was active in the YWCA, Woman's Club, Garden Club, Pensacola Country Club, a founding member of an Order of Eastern Star Chapter in Mobile, AL and a member of Gadsden Street United Methodist Church. Pearl was preceded in death by her parents, John and Mamie Gift; her sister, Irene Gift Moore; husband, Henry F. Mueller; daughters, Carolyn Beth and Henri Lynn. She is survived by her niece, Linda Nicholas Gray (John) of Tulsa, OK; nephews, Paul E. Nicholas of Prairie Village, KS and Thomas H. Nicholas (Jane) of Pensacola; great nieces, Jayne Nicholas Bell and Lisa Mueller Nicholas of Pensacola, Nanette Nicholas Rice (Richard) of Chesterfield, MO, Genette Nicholas of Kansas City, MO, Kelly Dunlap Wilkerson of Tulsa, OK; great nephews, Dr. T. Eric Nicholas (Rebecca) Marietta, GA and Joshua Dunlap of Dallas, TX; five great great nieces and two great great nephews. Private family Graveside Services will be held at Bayview Memorial Park following cremation. The Reverend Bobby Ellisor of Gadsden Street United Methodist Church will conduct the service. The family extends their appreciation to Dr. M. Steven Moehle for keeping her in many years of good health.
