Peggy was born May 5, 1937, in Fulton, AL to Bradie Lee and L.C. Raybon. Peggy was the oldest of three children. Peggy worked in the restaurant industry for many years. The most memorable of those years being at The Family Restaurant and Oscars where she worked hard to provide for herself and children. She became a Bus Aide on a Special Needs school bus where she loved taking care of her "babies" before her retirement. During her retirement years she loved spending time with her fur babies, Jazz (who preceded her in death), Saban, and Sky. She loved her puppies and would take them everywhere she could. Peggy was an avid University of Alabama fan who wore all things Crimson and White and loved to cheer on the Tide every time they played.
She is preceded in death by her parents; son, Mickey and Theresa Courtney; as well as sons-in-law, Raymond Merritt and Richard Dykes.
Survivors include her sister, Gerry Crow; son, David Wade Sr. (Christal) of Pensacola, FL; daughters, Peggy Dykes of Pace, FL and DeAnna Merritt of Cantonment, FL; 11 grandchildren, Kris Merritt (Rie) of Georgia, Maggie Talford (Rick) of Naples, FL, David Wade Jr. (Ally) of Pensacola, FL, Melanie Merritt of Pensacola, FL, Savannah Enfinger (Jacob) of Milton, FL, Destin Wade (Kiyera) of Tampa, FL, Dakota Merritt (Christina) of Cantonment, FL, Cameron Dykes of Pace, FL, Daniel Wade (Sarah) of South Carolina, Baylee Merritt of Pensacola, FL, and Logan Wade of Pensacola, FL; as well as 14 great grandchildren.
