Peggy Jane Hunter (née Smith), 88, passed away after a short illness in Pensacola, FL, Saturday, Jan. 24, 2015. Peggy was born at home Dec. 21, 1926, Warren, AR, to Kirby Harvey Smith and Mary Myrtle(Gladden) Smith. She was married to Joseph Francis Hunter, III from July 22, 1944, until his death June 29, 1986. Peggy is survived by her sister, Helen Mumby of Pensacola, FL; her children, Joseph Hunter of Oxnard, CA, Timothy (Pam) Hunter of San Antonio, TX, Maureen (Bill) Dunbar of Pensacola, FL, Margaret (Richard) Varela of Lake Isabella, CA, Kitty (Mike) Smith of Lake Isabella, CA, Therese Anne Hunter of Sacramento, CA, Peggy (Rick) McCormack of Yokosuka, Japan; 21 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Graveside Service will be held 10:15am Friday, Jan. 30, 2015 at Barrancas National Cemetery, Naval Air Station, Pensacola.
