Obituary

Penny grew up on the shores of Lake Michigan.  She earned her degree in English from Marymount College in New York.  Going from the Atlantic coast to the Pacific coast, she attended the University of Southern California where she met Jim, the love of her life and husband for 48 years.

After many moves and three daughters later, they settled in Pensacola.  Although Chicago will always be "her kind of town", Pensacola is where she called home.

Penny found her calling while teaching at Pensacola Catholic High and loved every minute of her 23 years there.  She was known for putting her heart and soul into helping students any way she could.  After all of her girls grew up, she was led to pursue a degree in Divinity from Loyola University and thus solidifying a sacred relationship with God.

Penny was loved and will be missed by many.  Her gift for writing, her witty sense of humor and her kind heart are only a small fraction of what made up this amazing wife, mother, grandmother, teacher, and friend.

"Good night, good night!  Parting is such sweet sorrow, that I shall say good night till  it be morrow."  - William Shakespeare

Penny is survived by her three daughters: Courtney Lemox, Jamie Welsh and Tierney Luoma.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00am Friday, November 02, 2018 at St. Paul Catholic Church, 3131 Hyde Park Rd, Pensacola, FL 32503 with Fr. Jack Campbell as celebrant.  Private cremation was entrusted to Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel.

Her daughters would like to give a special thank you to the staff at Summer Vista, Covenant Hospice, Jeff Capdeville, Jean Lemox, Sharon Mills, and Brad Winchester.
